Adaptive Yoga Therapy is a unique
program addressing the whole body and mind through connective, biomechanically
correct movement, postures and manual manipulation. Our primary
therapy designs combinations consisting of Fusion Core Yoga, assisted
stretching, breath and movement repatterning to enhance the innate
intelligence and energies within the body that promotes natural
healing and wellness.
Adaptive Yoga Therapy is a stand-alone therapy or is supplemental
to the conventional approach of physical and occupational therapy.
Integrative Yoga is a powerful tool to support the results of other
rehabilitative therapies as well as an important preventative therapy.
Practical applications can be seen in the areas of automotive injury
rehabilitation as well as sports and work related injury/stress
challenges.
Adaptive Yoga Therapy focuses on going at the source of the problem
instead of just the symptom i.e. efficiently releasing excess tension
while strengthening supportive alignment. This is done with synergistic
blends of postures and flowing movements from various Asian healing
modalities such as Spectrum Yoga, Tai Chi, Thai Yoga Massage &
Shiatsu.
Adaptive Yoga Therapy is an integrative approach with a focus on
educational and self-discovery processes. It develops central equilibrium,
proprioception and universal core strength by proper skeletal alignment
in posture and motion. Training protocols are created including
correct muscle usage with balanced posture. This is integrated into
fundamental everyday activities like walking, sitting and standing.
Appropriate nutritional supplementation and healthy diet is also
an integral element of this holistic approach to wellness. Exercises
and bodywork vary and evolve session-to-session.
Adaptive Yoga Therapy helps to strengthen and stretch the body with
flexions, extensions and rotations that use whole body motion. This
Adaptive Yoga cultivates deep awareness and intention to affect
virtually all-physical and mental task functions.
As Adaptive Yoga opens the mind to seeing the possibilities, there
is more focus on wellness instead of the problem. Most of all, this
program offers individuals the choice to enhance their quality and
enjoyment of life.
